Hardly any studies
Do you think that nowadays kids get an overload of studies? Well, think again! At RBA, it’s exactly the opposite for some 4th Standard students. Says Karuna Nair, a member of the Nair family “We’ve not done many studies since a long time. We’ve had lots of extra curricular activities since January 2008.” Seems like a burst of fun has overcome this school since the New Year arrived. The 4th standard has made a minitiaure city from scrap and even had plays and an exhibition about stories! Up and coming is a play on the story Ali Baba & the 40 thieves. Watch it at 6:00 pm, 8th March 08 at Mahavir English Medium School. So much for studying, eh!

Are you bored out of your socks? Well here's some interesting things to do.

Craft- if you're into craft lately , get hold of stuff and start making either this cool stuff or other items.

Tissue and newspaper- got tissue or newspaper? Well then get moulding . Using glue and a pinch of water mould tissue /newspaper into shape. Use cardboard for guidance if needed. Paint or cover with colour paper/ magazine paper. For a shiny finish stroke on pva glue and stick glad wrap gently over finished moulding. Tip: while using newspaper you can soak in water overnight for soft, easy to mould newspaper.

Cardboad- Got a load of cardboard boxes to throw away? Don't throw them, because you can create some cool stuff with a little decoration added.

Decorations- Are you planning a party? Well then, cut out some cardboard designs and decorate them using paper, paints, crayons, felt tips, pencils, glitter, bits of paper, anything!

Photo Frame- Measure a large shape(triangle, rectangle, anything). Draw a smaller version of the same shape inside your original. Cut out the bit inside your remaining cardboard. When you've made a big line of cardboard in a shape, then get decorating and hesto presto you have a handmade photo frame!

Excellent work, Karuna. Your blog jokes were very funny, I will pass it on to my friends. Check for mistakes before you put it up or correct them when you find time, example - basin for besan, malayalam for malayali in onam celebrations. But mistakes apart, I loved reading the blog, post things more often including funny pictures.
